Embossing Powder Information
|
Opaque Powders
These self-coloured powders can be used over virtually any base ink colour or paper/card colour - although for best results it is best to use ink that is as close to the powder colour as possible.

Metallic Powders
These virtually opaque, metallic powders produce great tarnish resistant metallic colours. The colour can be slightly adjusted by varying the base ink shade. Coloured base inks are not essential for these powders but, for best results, use Yellow or Tan base inks for Gold and Copper powders, and Blue of Grey ink for Silver powder.

Pearl Iridescent Powders
These clear powders will give a pearlescent lustre to the underlying base ink colour. Altering the base ink will change the overall colour. The underlying colour will also be defracted by the powder and the resulting effect will change depending on the viewing angle. This powder can also be used with our glitters and sparkles (1 part glitter to 3 parts Clear).
NOTE: The colour specified for some of the Pearl Iridescent colours refers to the colour of the iridescent sheen which is reflected off the powder. It is not the actual colour of the powder itself. All these powders (except for the Copper and Gold powders) are clear. The Copper and Gold powders have a translucent copper/gold colour.

Pearl Satin Powders
These clear pearl satin powders will give a more pronounced pearlescent lustre than the Pearl Iridescent powders to the underlying base ink colour. Altering the base ink will change the overall colour. Unlike the Pearl Iridescent powders, the effect is the same whichever angle it is viewed from. This powder can also be used with our glitters and sparkles (1 part glitter to 3 parts Clear).
The Metallic Pearl Satin powders can be used as an alternative to our Metallic Powders. The underlying ink will still effect the colour but the effect will be overlaid by the metallic colour of the powder.
NOTE: The colour specified for some of the Pearl Satin colours refers to the colour of the satin sheen which is reflected off the powder. It is not the actual colour of the powder itself. All these powders (except for the Copper and Gold powders) are clear. The Copper and Gold powders have a translucent copper/gold colour.

Fluorescent Powders
These brightly coloured Fluorescent powders perform in the same way as our opaque powders in that they are self coloured and do not rely on the colour of the underlying base ink for the final colour. They can be used over virtually any base ink colour to give the resultant colour of the powder. As with many fluorescent compounds, they will also glow brightly under Ultra-violet light - although the colour they glow under UV light will not necessarily be exactly the same as the powder colour.

Expanding Puff-up Powders
Puff-up powders expand and rise 3 times higher than our other powders. They can also be used on textile products such as a T-shirt and they are machine washable once applied. Sparkles can be added for additional effects.

Glitter and Sparkle Additives
Note that our Glitters and Sparkles are not embossing powders. They have been
specially manufactured to be mixed with any of our powders.
A good mix ratio is one part glitter or sparkle to three parts powder.
